Aave liquidation price calculator

Enter your collateral, debt and the liquidation threshold to see the exact price at which your position gets liquidated, your current health factor and the buffer before risk.

Enter a collateral amount, debt and a current price (auto-loaded from CoinGecko — edit if needed).

How the math works

DCA return

Accumulate coins = Σ (amount ÷ price) on each buy date. ROI = (coins × current price − invested) ÷ invested. The chart plots invested principal, DCA value and a lump-sum comparison on the same axis.

Liquidation price

Health factor = (collateral × threshold) ÷ debt. It equals 1.0 at the liquidation price, which is debt ÷ (collateral amount × threshold). Below that price the position can be liquidated.

Compound growth

Each month the balance grows by the monthly rate (annual ÷ 12) and then your contribution is added. Future value is the balance after the final month; the chart separates contributions from compounding gains.

Frequently asked questions

What is a Bitcoin DCA calculator and how does it work?
Dollar-cost averaging (DCA) means buying a fixed dollar amount of an asset on a regular schedule regardless of price, which smooths out volatility. This calculator replays your schedule against real daily Bitcoin (and other coin) prices from 2021 to today, accumulates the coins you would have bought, and shows your total invested versus current value and ROI.
How is DCA ROI calculated?
For every purchase we add (amount ÷ price) coins to your stack and add the amount to your invested total. At the end, ROI = (coins × current price − total invested) ÷ total invested. The tool also compares against a lump-sum strategy — investing the entire total on day one — so you can see both outcomes on one chart.
Is DCA better than lump-sum investing?
Historically, lump-sum wins roughly two-thirds of the time in rising markets because more capital is exposed earlier. DCA reduces timing risk and the regret of buying right before a crash, which many investors prefer. The calculator shows both lines so you can judge for your own start date and asset.
What is an Aave liquidation price?
In Aave-style lending, each collateral asset has a liquidation threshold (LT). Your health factor is (collateral value × LT) ÷ debt. When the collateral price falls far enough that this ratio reaches 1.0, the position can be liquidated. The liquidation price is simply debt ÷ (collateral amount × LT) — the price at which your health factor hits 1.0.
How do I avoid getting liquidated?
Keep your health factor comfortably above 1.0 (most borrowers target 1.5+), never borrow at the maximum allowed against volatile collateral, prefer stablecoin debt, and monitor prices. The calculator shows exactly how far the price can drop before liquidation and the maximum you could safely borrow at the chosen threshold.
What is crypto compound interest?
Compound interest is earning returns on your principal plus all previously earned returns. In the compound projector you set an initial amount, a monthly contribution and an annual return rate; it compounds monthly and charts your balance against total contributions so the gap — pure compounding growth — is visible.
Where do the prices come from?
Historical daily prices are sourced from Binance public market data (baked into the page for speed and reliability), and the live "current price" is fetched from CoinGecko. Figures may lag the market by a minute or two and are shown for planning only.
Is this financial advice?
No. These calculators are educational planning tools. Crypto is volatile and past performance does not predict future results. Nothing here is investment, tax or legal advice.
